Burnt Fingers-A Poem

Beware of dark souls with dark intentions!

There are some of them with despicable minds,
With hearts so black and souls so dark!
With smiles so wide they greet you with,
While behind their backs they hold,
Dagger of malice stained red with blood!

Beware of hypocrites who preach from chapter and verse!

There are some them whose minds work with malicious will,
The Holy Book they hold, in defiled devious hands!
They preach at will, from chapter and verse,
As they plot with evil intent, the fall of innocent men!
And they smile at you with smiles so sweet!

Beware of one with a face so sweet!

They have faces sweet, but filled with guile that all would flee
Than glance at them! Gorgon’s face,
All of them, of what’s hidden in the heart’s depths,
None may tell, in faces of stone, so dark, so cold,
So flee they from such a one!

Beware of one who greets you with fawning Grace!

Beware of them who greet with fawning Grace,
Lest they might snare you in a web of sleight!
For while they greet with fawning Grace,
They hold in hands daggers with malice stained,
And they preach at will from chapter and verse!

Beware of those with Sophistry and Guile!

So beware of those with Sophistry and Guile,
For hide they hearts so black, and souls so dark!
While with sweet smiles greet you they, behind their backs,
They conceal a malicious steel steeped in blood,
To bring down those the innocent and kind!
