Protective Custody Photo by Rodrick Lal — National Geographic Your Shot

This family of Does and Fawns was harrassed by a couple of dogs at the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary when I visited it recently. They re-grouped at some distance from the dogs. The little fawns can be seen trembling from the stress of having to run away from the dogs. From their appearance, it seems as if the fawns are barely a few days old. The snap was taken in the morning when there was mist and it was barely past sunrise, therefore the image is not very sharp. I however like the effect!
