This is a picture of a dragonfly taken at the Sultanpur National Park recently. These insects can be found in great abundance in habitats that have rivers, lakes and ponds nearby.

Sunrise at Morni Hills Photo by Rodrick Lal — National Geographic Your Shot

This is a snap I took a couple of years ago on a school coordinators’ trip to the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, India. One of the activities was a trek to the Morni Hills from our camp. We were to camp on top of the mountain overnight. While I couldn’t capture the Milky Way at night, I was able to capture this amazing scene.

Quiet of the Morning – Crossing Over Photo by Rodrick Lal — National Geographic Your Shot

I remember the date, the seventh of October, 2016, and my brother and I were the first to step inside the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary. It was about 7:30 a.m. and this was my first photograph of that day. The photograph captures two Asian Antelopes crossing the path ahead of me. The light was low and there was a slight mist. The effect of the lighting is evocative enough which is why I have titled the snap, “Crossing Over.”
