Black Drongos, Parrots, Bar-headed Geese

Black Drongos often present a challenge to photograph, especially as the dark colour of the feathers seems to overwhelm the rest of the features.

This time, I got the angle right and so was able to photograph the eyes. As you will notice, the eyes have come out really nice!

Parrots are frisky birds, they are noisy, and, someone told me, very intelligent. This one kept turning around, keeping me in sight!

It was certainly an amazing experience to see Bar-headed Geese after they had alighted on a lake at the Sultanpur National Park. These birds apparently are the highest flying birds in the world, and they manage it without Oxygen cylinders!

Northern Shoveler Duck

Northern Shoveler Ducks have beaks shaped like shovelers. They swing their beaks to and fro underwater in search of edible things to eat. The association with the shovel, however, doesn’t mean they are ugly!
